What is bee bread?
Bee bread: the food bees make for themselves
Bee bread, or perga, is made inside the hive. Bees collect pollen from flowers, mix it with honey and their own enzymes, and pack it tightly into the comb. There it ferments naturally and keeps the colony fed all winter.
People in many cultures have eaten bee bread for a long time. Perga Glow makes it easy: one hexagon pastille at a time.
From comb to pastille
How is bee bread made?
Fermenting in the comb gives bee bread its tangy, slightly sour taste, a bit like sourdough or yogurt. It also preserves it naturally.
We blend the bee bread with berry or fruit powder and press it into hexagon pastilles, the same shape as the comb it came from. Every pastille is packed in its own pouch.
What's inside?
